About Us

Born from a love of creativity, heritage craftsmanship, and sustainable fashion Izzy-no Retro is a sustainable fashion label founded by Joyce Batch from Newtownards, Co. Down, during 2025.

After retiring early from a long career in administration, I decided to embrace a lifelong creative instinct and explore the skills and inspirations that had quietly followed me for years. Creativity runs deeply through my family. My mother, whose middle names were Isobel Nora, worked as a seamstress in her early years, while my grandmother was a skilled lacemaker in the early 1900s. Their influence and craftsmanship inspired the name Izzy-no Retro, a tribute that keeps their legacy alive through every piece created.

With a love for denim, nostalgia, and the planet, we specialize in reworking preloved denim into one-of-a-kind pieces that blend retro flair with conscious design. Denim is one of the most durable fabrics in the world, yet so much of it ends up in landfill each year. By repurposing preloved denim, Izzy-no Retro gives these fabrics a second life, reducing waste while creating beautiful, wearable pieces that tell their own story.

 Our mission is simple:

Style with substance, fashion with a future. Join us in celebrating individuality, circular fashion, and the beauty of second chances.
